Ms. Barbara Tims is a 4th grade teacher at Lakeside Elementary in Pittsburg, Ks. She is a STAR Educator and was Kansas Master Teacher of the year in 2002-2003. She involves the community in monthly Poetry Coffee Houses. She has worked with the students at Pittsburg State University to create "Just Imagine City" and "Just Imagine World", both of which have gained nation-wide recognition through Student In Free Enterprise competitions. Ms. Tims serves as a guest lecturer at Pittsburg State University. Her state assessment results in math and science speak for themselves. She truly lives her life to help those students, no matter disability, creed, economic background, ethnicity, etc. to achieve their greatest potential.
